Quentic is one of the leading solution providers of Software as a Service in the European EHS and CSR market. The company is headquartered in Berlin, Germany, and employs more than 250 people. Branch offices are located in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Spain and Italy.

70 of them work in our Development Center in the departments Software Development, Software Testing, UX Design and Technical Editing. As Head of Engineering (m/f/d) you will report directly to our CTO.

Your challenge

  • Lead, coach, and support a team of passionate developers to foster a high-performance culture
  • Build trusting relationships and collaborate across departments to execute on company strategy
  • Manage the delivery of software using agile best practices including continuous deployment, continuous integration, and test-driven development
  • Responsibility for the entire software development lifecycle: perform day-to-day project management in coordination with the Product Owners to ensure successful, on-time releases; demonstrate ownership and accountability for the team’s delivery
  • Lead and coordinate our team leaders and ensure effective collaboration 
  • Implement and optimize (agile) processes and metrics in collaboration with our Agile Coaches to ensure that the team is extremely efficient and focused
  • Enable a culture of creativity, collaboration, speed, innovation, and excellence while continuously elevating the quality and caliber of our engineering organization
  • Work effectively with product managers, engineers, and the engineering leadership team to allocate engineering resources appropriately across various projects, including balancing customer needs with longer-term product roadmap needs
  • Recruit engineering talent and participate in the recruiting flow including attracting, screening, and closing high profile candidates
  • Create a productive work environment and keep the teams focused, informed and fulfilled
  • Ensure the team fully understands the goals and objectives of Quentic as a company and how their work fits into the bigger picture

Your qualification

  • Studies in Computer Science or related technical discipline or several years of experience as Scrum Master (m/f/d) or Agile Coach (m/f/d) or Product Owner (m/f/d)
  • Proven experience leading software development teams
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully hiring, directly managing, coaching, and retaining software developers
  • Perennial years of hands-on software development experience building enterprise SaaS, cloud-based solutions, or consumer web platforms
  • Recent experience using and implementing agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of release management and deployment workflow processes, from development release through staging and production deployment
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build productive cross-departmental relationships and motivate team members. Must have a positive, can-do attitude and value collaboration
  • Fluent German and English language skills
